2 day old baby parakeet

I CAME HOME 10/21 & 1 EGG OF 5 WAS HATCHED,I HEARD THE BABY BUT COULD NOT SEE IT.TODAY I SAW THE BABY IT HAD FALLEN THROUGH THE BOTTOM OF THE CAGE.(SHE HAD THEM ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CAGE)I CALLED THE PET STORE,THEY SAID PUT A TUPPERWARE LID IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CAGE EXACTLY WHERE SHE HAD THE BABY,BY THE WAY SHE WAS SITTING OVER THE BABY AT THAT TIME BUT NOT MAKING CONTACT WITH IT.SO I SHREDDED PAPER TOWELS & NESTING STUFFING ON TOP OF THE TUPPERWARE.SHE HAS NOT SAT ON TOP OF THE BABY SINCE,SO I COVERED THE CAGE TO KEEP THE BABY WARM.IF SHE DOESNT TAKE CARE OF THE BABY,HOW DO I? PLEASE HELPI

Hello Deborah! Theres not much you can do by this point if the mother does not care for it. Baby keets are so tiny and its very difficult and most of the time not worth it. It may sound mean but usaully a lot of keets die when they are first born because the mother doesnt know how to take care of them. The female was probably scared of the strange object where her nest was and abandoned it. However, this is the way of life for the babies. If you want them to breed again, provide a wooden nesting box for her that way the babies wont fall through. good luck
