Question
Thank you for that advise. my dad has just asked a budgie breeder about it and he said that it may be a change of diet.we did used to feed them seed from a pet shop which when it fell in water, it didn't grow into grass, and then we got some food from wollworths and when that fell in water, it grew into grass so we think thats what may have caused it. we have also been told that putting a tiny bit of rasberry cordial in their water helps kill bacteria, do you think this is true? anyway, thankyou so much.

Well what about the completley white poos, is that normal?
Also i have noticed that today he has not been himself
and has been quite quiet and fluffed up into a ball shape?
Are you sure he may not be sick?

-----Question-----
Hey Amber,
We have 2 boy budgies which are about 8 months old now. They have
recently been pooing white or green poos which are sometimes slopy. They
are all alright in themselves and still churp like mad but the poo is either pure
whits or green! Is there anything wrong with them? Please help!
-----Answer-----
Hello Rebecca! Dont worry, this is completly normal for budgies and you
shouldnt have to worry. Their feces are usualy green with white in the middle.
This is because budgies or any other birds dont pee and deficate like
humans. It all comes out at once. The only time you have to worry is if the
feces are foamy or completly watery. Other wise your budgies are quite
healthy :D

The white feces are normal. If your bird is fluffed up and you are worried that he may be ill, then the best thing to do is seperate him to a different cage. make sure he is no drafts. Put a heat lamp (can buy a lamp in the reptile section of your pet store) about 16 inches away from the cage. Heat is the first thing to do if you suspect your bird is sick. Give him plenty of weakly brewed black tea to drink. This should make him feel better. Wait a couple days and see if he improves or at least looks normal to join the rest. if he gets worse, continue the heat lamp and put a bowl of water near his cage for humidity. good luck

Answer
Since keets digestive system is very sensitive, it might of been bad food. In this case, sprinkle a little activated charcoal on the food or mix it in the water. This eliminates acid problems in birds as well as helps digestion. Some plain boiled brown rice will also help an upset stomach. Rasberry cordial when put in the water does eliminate some bacteria. Put in only a small amount in the water. this can also help keep your birds from getting sick
