Question
Hey Leah I have a big problem! I have 2 cages for my budgies one big and one small cage. My mom says that the big cage takes up too much space and she tells me to use the small cage for breeding. The dimensions of the big cage are 34 inches in length, 20 inches in height, and 34 inches in width. The dimensions of the small cage are 15 inches in length, 10 inches in height, and 9 inches in width. Can I use the small cage for breeding and then transfer my budgies at another specific time? Please answer soon!!

Answer
I would use the bigger cage for breeding.  One of the reasons for being that there won't be enough room for the nest boxes without overcrowding them if you use a small cage.  Budgies usually have between 3 and 7 babies, so that small cage will get crowded quick!  If you decide to use the smaller cage, I would recommend transferring them once the babies are about four to six weeks old.
