my parakeet

Question
I have a parakeet that was given to me about three years ago. I don't know if it is a boy or a girl but it has a strange thing hanging out of it's behind it looks like it could be an egg that didn't develope or it is it's gut's we don't know and in the cage it has blood spots on the bottom and the perches that are in there. Please let me know if this sounds like something you have heard of or  seen before.

I personally have never come across this before in a bird, but it does sound like a prolapse to me. i strongly suggest getting your bird to an avian vet as soon as you can. Prolapses are distressing to animals, and my fear is that your bird will try to gnaw at it or not be able to defecate properly.
