Question
Hi

I have seeked your advise before on a trailer issue and have had great success. I have another horse with different issues and would like your advice.

Willow is a three year old warmblood which i bred and travelled well alongside her mother as a foal. She always loads first time and is very relaxed, but as soon as i close the ramp she panics. I have tried numerous things, travelling alongside another and taking the partition out.  I have loaded her nearly everyday for a month, without going anywhere, but as soon as i close the ramps, she panics.

I have taken her on small, round the block trips, and always the same result. Always dripping with sweat.

I really want to help this little mare.

Please advise

Sam

Answer
The horse is scared since it has not done it enough. The more you do it the more the horse will learn, have someone else drive and you get in back with horse, you can ride in back with horse, give carrots, don't go far, short trips, stop give treat and drive a bit more, it is all about exposure.
