my gelding is pasture kept he scratches on everything to the point of hair loss and sores mainly neck and chest he has lost half his mane   ho do i give him some relief from this i have owned him since dec04 and have him on a worming schedule  does he need to see a vet

HE HAS SOME KIND OF SKIN CONDITION THAT MAKES HIM ITCH. IT COULD BE MITES OR LICE.

SHAMPOO HIM WITH A GOOD DISINFECTANT SHAMPOO. MAKE SURE YOU RINSE HIM WELL. IF THAT DOES NOT STOP THE SCRATCHING, HAVE A VET LOOK AT HIM
