Question
Im am 13.I just got a really young horse for my birthday. she is not even a year old and the people that had her before actually only fed her corn on the cob.We got her health back in about a month. we just got her out of rearing.She is a paint mixed with thoroughbred. She has one blue eye and one half brown and half brlue eye. She has tell in depth. When she gets older im thinking about hunter-jumping her, barrels, or cut cattle.But i dont know how good she will be at all those. the first day we had her she jumped over a creek and a fence all at one time.So would she be good at hunter-jumping?

Answer
Hi Brittany;

It's too early to decide on a career for your new horse.  Her conformation, size, personality and athletism will decide what she's good at later on.

For now, concentrate on giving her good basic training on the ground and later in saddle.  Once she's been under saddle for a little bit, then she'll tell you what she's going to be good at.

It's very possible that she could do hunter/jumper.

Best of luck!

Sincerely,

Lana Reinhardt
