Question
I''ve been riding for 5 years, and have alot of miles on a lot of differnt horses under my belt, and i have retrained alot of horses before, but do you think i would be able to train a young horse [ like a saddle broke, maybe some pro. training ] I would love to get a young horse to train my way for me.  Also, what kind of horse would you recomend? i am almost 5'5 and i do hunters and a little eventing,
thank you!
Jenn

Answer
Hello Jenn,

First of all you would have to decide for sure what kind of riding you want do do. If it is hunters, you need someone to teach you the correct way before you try to teach a horse.  If it is eventing, you surely need a coach because it is impossible to learn dressage by yourself or teach a horse without an experienced, competent coach/trainer.  And eventing can be very dangerous for both horse and rider if it is not done properly.

In other words, you can get a young horse but you will need a coach/trainer to show you how to train it.

Happy riding,
Dorothy
