Shoulder soreness

Hello.
I have a 17 year old appaloosa who at odd times will suffer fron shoulder soreness. I rub him down before and after with liniment and I try to never give him pain releiver unless all other options are exhausted. I was wondering if there is anything else I can do to relieve and rehabilitate his shoulder

Hi Diana.
  I don't understand why you are holding off giving pain relieve of any kind. This is nothing short of cruel. There are several things you can do once you have a complete set of x-rays of both shoulders, but without the added analgesic benefits I would say your results would not be as effective and would take much longer to be noticable.
