Selling my Gelding

Question
Hi my name is Kellie and I am from Idaho. I am looking to sell my horse but I don't know what to price him at. He's about 15 years old but still in good shape. He stands about 15-16 hands. He's also a registered race horse, however I can't find his papers! Uhm, he has a few quirks, like he won't come up to you when catching him unless you have food. I would recommend him to a more experienced rider, he doesn't buck hard but still gets a little hump to him if he's out on pasture too long. He is very versatile. Fast, you can rope off him, shoot off him, do just about anything. An all round ranch horse. I'm 20 now and I've had him since I was a little girl and I've always been able to handle him just fine. So what would you recommend? I want to price him a little high but I feel that with his age, there's not much I can get out of him.

Answer
hi kellie,
well due to the fact that the equestrian market is alittle down not many people are buying. all the qirks he has are all easily fixable. his papers can be retrieved. since he is a very versitile ranch horse i would say post him for $3000. this is alittle high like you asked. for a better chance of selling him i would start riding him alot. get him alittle tired so he behaves better. the horse trader and dream horse are great places to advertise. i have two in there right now. if you have pictures of him working cows or being roped off of it will look alot better too.good luck.
