horse tiring for long distance trotting

hello madam, do horses get tired of trotting for long distances, because i have seen a horse panting while trotting. what preventive measures can be taken to get rid of horse panting?? madam, please tell me how much distance to trot a horse according to his age, height and weight.

if a horse is out of shape then yes it will pant when it is tired. it does not depend on the horses heigh weight or age it depends on its fitness. you need to start a horse out at trotting for ten minutes then gradually increase this. some horses can trot for hours. a horse should be able to trot at least three miles easily.
