Question
I have a 2 1/2 month old filly. I've only had her for 5 days. She has been wonderful. Then yesterday she came up from behind me and reared up and tried to kick me with her front legs. How can I stop this bad behavior before it becomes dangerous?

Answer
Connie,

She's not really being aggressive, more precocious than anything.  Like any baby she's finding out what she can get away with.  Mommy usually diciplines them but you have to step in here and let her know, in no uncertain terms, that this behavior is not acceptable.  Yell at her, smack her sharply, that usually will be enough.  But younsters will try to see what you will allow and you have to stop it immediately.  My youngster tried a couple of things wtih me and found out immediately that I would not allow it.

She'll be fine but will try you from time to time like any youngster does.
