Question
Hey, I have a black horse whom I gave to a local ferrier so he can trim his hooves and put some shoes on, but when he brought it back, he was limping. So I checked his hoove and there was some blood on a nail with some kind of foam on it. This was two days ago and I want to know if he will get better without taking of the nails.

Answer
Good Morning!  Well, I don't really have an answer for you. I'm not a farrier and only deal with trimming pathological hooves. However, that being said -- Sounds like your farrier might have quicked the horse. Personally, I would ask him and see what he thinks he can do. It's very possible the horse can get an infection from a quicked nail. So, best to ask your farrier.
