Question
I don't know if you could answer my question but i was just wondering if you would know why my male red ear keeps biting my female red-ear on the back of her neck. He tore away some of her skin so it's concerning me. they have mated before and had eggs but ate them too....that's sort of weird also. i've been reading up on mateing tendancys but i have'nt really found anything on the male biting the famale and eating there eggs.

Answer
Aggressive behaviors like this are usually a sign that the tank is too small. We generally recommend over 10 gallons of swimming space per linear inch of turtle to help offer some space, reduce stress, etc.

If your female is laying eggs in water, she is stressed as well. Females lay eggs in warm soil on the banks of creeks or lakes.
