Fat Legs

Question
Ok, so Ive had my red eared slider for a few years now, she seems very healthy, has no problem eating or swimming, and she has never been sick that I am aware of. She is very responsive and acts pretty normal aside from her being a bit snippy and mean. My question is, she has very fat back legs, I thought it was her diet so I changed the food I was feeding her and how often I fed it to her. She eats a little bit of pellets every few days and yet her back legs continue to be bulging out of her shell and I am starting to get worried, is she still just fat, is this normal or could she possibly have an infection, I checked for pus and there is none so like I said she seems quite healthy. I am just afraid this is bothersome or maybe even painful to her. What could it be?

Answer
I am concerned that it is an infection- possibly septicemia. Septicemia USUALLY has a reddish tinge, but not always. There is no home remedy- it needs vet care very soon.
