Russian Tortoise small neck growth

My family just purchased a russian tortoise from a Petco shop locally less than a week ago. When we got him, he looked like pretty good but he had one tiny brown spot on his neck approx. the size of 2 pencil points touching. this spot has grown to 3 times it's size and the color is more like his reg. body color. he is probably about 5 inch. long. he has an outdoor and indoor pen. he has been eating and going potty well. I really hope i don't have to take him back to the store because he is really a nice guy. and info please would be appreciated. thank you! Theresa.

Remember, I am not a vet. Is the discolored area raised or oddly textured at all?

If I am not mistaken, you are saying it has a spot on its neck about the size of 6 pencil points, about the color of its skin- this does not sound like anything I am familiar with.
