Question
Hi i have a short necked freshwater tortoise i think its a male. we got him when he was very small. he is beautiful about 5-6 inches from top of his shell to the end. when we walk up to his tank he will follow me back and  forward along the tank and he splashes at you sometimes???
i don't no if he is happy to see me or being aggressive. he has a beautiful ft talk. he did it be for we moved but he was in the kitchen bench now we got a bigger tank he have moved him. he still does it?? what could it be he seen happy and doesn't bit ME or my partner but if you stick  you hand in his tank like you have food he'll  try jump up.??

I do not generally answer freshwater turtle questions, and I must admit that I have very little knowledge of Australian turtles.

I will point out that in Australia, you use the word 'tortoise' for some turtles, while in most of the world and in the US, a 'tortoise' is an animal that lives entirely on land- Desert Tortoise, Star Tortoise, etc.

We use the word turtle for aquatic species, like your Short-necks and so on. I hope this does not cause a lot of confusion.
