different terrapins

Question
Me and my boyfriend have got 1 female red eared (which is about a year old), 1 female yellow bellied(which is about 3-5 months old) and 1 male sawback (which is around 5-6 months old) terrapins in the same tank. Is it ok to have them all in the same tank or not?

The red eared has always been in a tank on its own and thought it would be a good idea to put them all together because it is easyier to clean a bigger tank rather than having to clean 2 tanks and it saves electricity.

The yellow bellied and the sawback have been in the tank together since the youngest was put in there and they haven't had a fight just bit eachother when they was next to eachother in the bath, when we clean the tanks.

They are all fine with eachother, just the male keeps doin that mating dance to both of them and both females don't pay attention they jus slap him with their front foot.

Whenever the male gets out of the water onto the floating bed the yellow bellied terrapin always bited its foot.. do you know why that is?

Answer
At this size, the 'mating dance' is a sign of aggression/dominance- an early warning of stress and crowding. Remember- turtles are not really social animals.

The guideline of tank size is about 10 gallons of water per inch of total shell length. When your guys are approaching maturity, they will be about 4"- and so need about 120 gallons of water. As adults, you will have about 27" of shell length, needing about 270 gallons of water.
