Greek tortoise, eyes, white rings

Dear jeannie,

Hugo is 1 year old and very healthy. He eats very well and is an active turtle. I have noticed white rings around his eyes and wondering if this is okay? I hope these rings don't  mean he in sick.

Please let me know if he is sick.

Hi Victoria,

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by white rings--could you be more specific?  Is this something new?  Can you give me more information about how you have Hugo set up--what kind of enclosure is he in (and size), substrate, temperatures on warm/cool side, type of basking/UVB lights, and complete diet.  Also, how big is Hugo and where did you get him?  Pictures of what you're seeing would also help.

If this is a change in his appearance, then something may be going on, so addition information would help.  I'll try to post back as soon as I hear from you.
