Question
Hi Yexalen,
I have 2 Yellow Belly Terrapins,
I've had them 6 months now and there about 3 inches across the shell. I recently moved them into a 7ft X 2ft 700 Litre tank with a fluval FX5 filter. The water temperature is 26 C. They have a large area to bask in under the uv lights but i hardly see them there unless they are sleeping, would it be a good idea to use a heat lamp for them, the tank is in the front room so doesnt get too cold, i took a reading the other day and it was a couple of degrees colder than the water.
also, ive been looking into putting a fresh water blue lobster into the tank with them, i spoke to the guy at the shop about doing this and he said it would be fine, but he would, he's selling them!  i cant see a problem if i put somewhere for the lobster to hide if he wants to and the tank would be big enough for the pins to hide if they didnt like it. just wondered if you have had any experience?
thankyou an advance

Answer
Hi Andrew, first of all no you can not house the lobster with the turtles. Turtles are territorial and it can lead to a deadly fight.

The air temperature should be warmer then the water temperature. Sorry I am not good with converting temperatures but around 80F (26-27C) for water and 90F (32C) for air/basking temperature.

You will find they will bask a lot more when its warmer.

Good luck
Yexalen
