Question
I just got a glider, and I like the idea of taking her out and putting her in a tent with me (how long should I wait to try to do that with her?). But, my glider likes to sleep on the ground (under one of my old shirts), instead of in a pouch (is that bad for her?). How do I get her out of the cage? She just sleeps with the shirt over her, so I cant exactly use that to pick her up. Also, she's new and she flies at me when I put my hand in the cage. I know I'm not supposed to flinch, but it's just a natural reaction for me. How do I either get over it or how do I get her to the point where I don't have to worry about her trying to eat me? As of right now, I'm using treats to kind of associate me with good things, and using a shirt so she gets used to my scent, but I'm not sure what else I can do when I cant get her out...

Answer
since she is new it will take her a little while to realize that you are a good person and not the enemy...using a old shirt and treats is the right things to do....it just takes longer for some gliders to bond then for others....just keep trying to interact with her like you have been and she should come around to trusting you sooner or later.....and as long as its a soft place where she is sleeping and she doesnt seem hurt sleeping under your shirt should be fine for her.....
