QuestionI have a male and female sugar glider and they have have a 1 week o.o.p. joey, I know that after 8 weeks they can be separated but can the 3 of them continue to live together? I'm not sure if I need another cage, it would be nice if they could all safely live together. Thanks for your help, Dani
AnswerCongratulations! Sugar Gliders are excellent parents. The male will help, often babysitting to allow the mother some free time. Is the joey male or female? They can't all stay together when the joey reaches maturity at about six months of age. You don't want inbreeding to take place. If the joey is male, he'll need to be neutered. If it is female, the father would need to be neutered.
I hope this helps. Good Luck,
Betty
