bumps on a senegal chameleon

Question
I just got a senegal chameleon as birthday present.  He was purchased from a pet store chain.  He has some small brownish bumps on the top edge of his tail and a couple along his side and the bottom of his belly.  They do not seem to bother him.  Are they any thing to worry about?  THANKS

Answer
Brownish bumps are not normal for a Senegal.  There are parasites that do invest under the skin.  I would rule out infestation and infection by having him checked by a good reptile veterinarian.  A general directory of reptile vets can be found on www.arav.org
