found a lizard

hi, i recently found a lizard in my backyard, i want to know if its poisinous and what it is. i live in southern California, in a suburb area. this lizard has a really long tail, looks like a snake, about 6-7 inches long, and its skin resembles a western fence lizard,

 The only poisonous lizards in the US and that is the Gila Monster which normally lives in the Southwest.  It grows to two feet and has a skink-shaped chunky body and a short stubby tail.  And the beaded lizard.  There are, however a host of native and introduced lizard species and all of these are non-venomous. Identification would require a more concise description.
