Question
Does it cause the female gecko pain when she mates, because the male looks so aggressive

Answer
Hi Kenneth:

Personally, I do not believe that it causes pain but when she has had enough, that's that, she is finished and does not want to be bothered any further.  It may look agressive but the male is just giving his impression of what a macho kind of gecko should be like.  The drive to reproduce exceeds and little bit of discomfort the female may have.  Plus, if she did not want to mate, he would not stand a chance, females are NOT the weaker sex when they don't want to be bothered.  After 40 years of mariage, I am an expert in the area of "leave me alone or else"

Hope this helps
