Question
my spotted gecko has been shedding at least once a week, and
I was wondering if this is normal for a younger gecko?
I have herd that they love to climb and my lizard has
problems with his feet and wont climb much, he has problems
with even climbing on his rocks. should I take him to a vet
and have him checked out?

Answer
Hello Zack,

Yes, that is relatively normal for young geckos to shed that often.  He is growing pretty quickly it seems right now.
What type of setup do you have for him?  Are you using an undertank heater with a low wattage basking light to obtain a warmer end of around 82 roughly?
Are you offering him calcium daily, in a little dish that he can lick the calcium out of as he needs?
Does he possibly have retained shed on his feet that could be constricting his circulation?
Do you have any pictures of him?
Do you use a moist humid hide/cave for him to help with shedding?

Although it is argued that most gecko species do not "need" any UVB lighting, I feel that low levels are beneficial.  So, you might want to consider getting a Reptisun 5 tube bulb, to help stimulate his appetite & help with vitamin & calcium absorption.

Is he eating pretty well?
