Question
Hi, My son has bread his rabbit, and we had 5 bunnies born of May 4. Today, one jumped out of the Nesting box, and has been out for several hours.  Do I need to be concerned?  It appears that he has approached the mama, and she has not let him nurse.  Does this mean that we need to start to put out food and water for the babies? (the food and water for the mother is to high up for the babies.
Thanks,

Ellen

Answer
hi ellen -does will not put babies back in the nest you will have to do it,and dont expect to see them suckle , in 12 years of rabbit breeding i have only seen the babies suckle twice.
the baby must go back in the nest sas sson as possible or it will die.
they dont come out the nest until there eyes are open , about 7-10 days they may start then or a little while after.
