weak week-old rabbit

Question
hi, i actually emailed you last week for some advice. my mother rabbit was not feeding her babies so i have had to flip her on her back and let them feed off of her. this hasn't really been a problem, although yesterday, one of the babies was accidently kicked onto the floor and hasn't been the same since. before this happened, he was the most energetic baby out of the litter of 4, and would always happily eat off mum. now he appears very weak, although he does still move around, and won't eat. is there anything i can do to help him? thanks

Answer
Rather than turning them over, try putting the mother in the box and lightly holding her in with them. That way she is much less likely to be able to harm them. Just be sure the nails are clipped on the mother.

As for the baby, try to get something down him. Try some kitten formula in a syringe or eye dropper. Hold him upright, and put the tip in the side of his mouth. Squeeze a drop in, and wait for him to swallow before putting another drop in. Kitten formula is not nearly strong enough to raise a baby on, but it can help get them strong enough to nurse regularly again.
