what shoul i do?
im scared to trim toe-nails

Answer
Hi,

is the nail just broken off or is the toe itself broken?

If it is the nail, you need to put styptic powder, or if you don't have any, flour and press it on the bleeding nail and hold it there.

If the toe is broken, you should get him to the vet.  If you can't get to a vet until morning, give him half a baby aspirin for pain, record the time you gave it to him (for the vet), and get him in to the vet first thing in the morning.  If you have arnica montana pills in your cabinet, give him 3 of these small pills instead of the 1/2 baby aspirin.  You can also give him three additional arnica pills in the morning before go to the vet.

Go to a good rabbit vet, one that you already trust.  If you don't have one yet, look here:

www.rabbit.org/vets/vets.html

and find a House Rabbit Society-recommended vet near you.  Either way, get there tomorrow.

And never do anything to your rabbit if you are not confident you can do it (the extremely rare exception is the case he would die if you didn't attempt something).
