Question
MY DOE HAD 8 BABYS THE OTHER DAY SHE IS FEEDING WELL, I WENT IN THE CAGE THIS MORNING TO FEED MUM AND MAKE SURE THEY WERE ALL ALIVE BUTWHEN I LOOKED AND ONE OF THE BABYS WAS OUT OF THE NEST I QUICKLY PUT IT BACK IN THE NEST WITH MY DOES FUR IT WAS VERY COLD, IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN SHALL I PUT IT IN WITH MY OTHER DOE THAT HAD BABYS 2 DAYS BEFORE THIS DOE ALL HER BABYS ARE WELL AND GET BIG.

Answer
It is generally more a problem with the baby than the mother. Some babies are especially persistant when nursing and will hold on while the mother jumps out. If he continues to do it, my suggestion would be to take the whole litter away from the mother and instead bring her to the babies twice a day to nurse. That way you can keep the babies in a box with a lid (of course with air holes...a shoebox works well) so it will not get out and get cold. Once they are old enough to be out of the box, you can put them back in the cage with the mother.
