Dwarf Lop Ear Rabbit: Nibbling!

Question
Hi,

I got a dwarf lop ear rabbit last week, she is 16 weeks old and is lovely! She lives outside but I do bring her inside in the evening and let her run around. When she is on my lap she will come up to me and sniff my skin and then bite, its more of a nibble but its quite sore. She seems really happy and I know she likes it on my lap as if i put her on the floor she jumps back up. Is there something I am doing wrong? I know rabbits naturally nibble things but i wouldn't want her to nibble any visitors that might hold her.

Any advice would be great as she is my first rabbit!

Thanks

Answer
hello laura

this is very normal behaviour and as your bunny is still young she will soon grow out of biting you. Please dont think you are dont something wrong, because your not. your giving her loads of love and cuddles that is what she likes. Carrying on what you are doing and she will soon stop biting you, baby bunnies are a bit like a puppy, they need time to be litter trained and to stop chewing things.

good luck and hope this helps
