Question
i just found 3 baby bunnies yesterday 5-5-07 and we are keeping a eye out for the mom but we have never seen her. The bunnies are still alive in a pot and what should we feed them. Should we feed them,  HELP

Answer
Dear Syd,

Please don't feed the babies.  You are not likely to see the mother, because mother rabbits feed their babies only once or twice a day, then stay away from the nest so as not to attract predators.  It's their natural instinct, but unfortunately it also fools kindhearted folks such as yourself into thinking the babies are orphaned.  They most likely are not.

This article will provide you with all the information you need:

You could place a few long strands of grass over the nest and check tomorrow morning to see if they've been disturbed.  If so, mama is caring for her babies, and all you need to do is watch and enjoy.  :)

Hope this helps, and that you have a cute little brood of babies hopping around your yard soon!

Take care,
Dana
