rabbit licking my hair

Question
Is it normal for my rabbit to lick and/or chew on my hair?  I normally lie on the floor with him for our petting sessions.  Lately he has started standing up to lick me on my hair near the scalp and lick and kind of comb my hair with his paws.  Is this normal?  He doesn't appear to actually get any of my hair in his mouth so I'm not worried about hairballs, but I just wanted to make sure this isn't something bad.

Answer
Hi Elizabeth,

this is a good sign.  He's grooming you and giving you kisses.  Rabbits only groom their closest friends.  After you pet him (which is your way of grooming) often they will want to return the favor.

Nope, its a good thing.  i'm not much for the pawing but if you tilt your head down more (where he's licking) he won't do it as much.  If you can keep him from sitting back on his hind legs while licking your hairline by keeping your hairline/forehead low so he doesn't have to reach, the less likely he will paw (box).  Now if he isn't boxing you as much as holding your hair and licking it like he would clean his ears, this is okay behavior and you don't need to modify anything.

Congrats, your guy loves you!
