Rabbit dandruff and constent shedding

Question
I read this may be mites. Revolution is recommended but money is tight and I would rather a home remedy if possible. We'll do whats necessary no matter the cost. We have not been to a vet at this time but will if necessary. We adopted Margaret from my sons teacher and she came to us with this condition. Margaret lives outdoors and has daily exercise in our large yard, and receives lots of attention from all of us. We brush lightly a few times a week.
Margaret also has very sticky bowel movements, which have to be pulled off her regularly. We feed her "Super Premium Rabbit Blend with Timothy Hay", and fresh hay as well. Margaret drinks from a sipper bottle which we may change to a ceramic bowl, so that she may drink more water at a time. The food is fruits, vegetables, seeds and grains, enriched with vitamins and minerals, made by Wild Harvest.
Thank you for your support and any help you may offer. We hope all is well with your pets as well.

Sincerely, The Blankenships

Answer
Dear Brad,

You've already got the answer to the question:  Revolution.  Home remedies are truly a waste of time in the case of mites, and you might be able to ask the vet for a prescription to buy Revolution online, which might be cheaper than buying it from the vet. Especially for fur mites (Cheyletiella parasitivorax), which cause the "dandruff" you describe, Revolution has proven the best remedy we've seen.  Nothing else really seems to work.

For the messy bottom, please read:

A major contributing factor is incorrect diet, and the name "Rabbit Blend" concerns me, since many such "blends" are loaded with goopy-poop inducing seeds, starchy bits and other junk food.  Please see:

for information that will help with this aspect of your bunny's health.

Hope this helps.
