Blood in rabbit stool

Question
Hello,
We have a active 6 year male netherland dwarf.  We have noticed there is occasionally what appears to be blood in his stool (very light and watery).  Otherwise is very active; he has a healthy appetite and there have no other changes in is health status or behaviour. My guess is that it is hemroids - however I am unable find information on this topic in rabbits.  Do you have any thoughts or suggestions?

Many thanks,

Answer
Dear Rebecca,

Hemorrhoids would be pretty unusual for a bunny.  He might have a polyp or other problem, and unless you are 100% certain he's a male (he should have very conspicuous testicles if not neutered), then there is the distinct possibility that "he" is a "she" showing early signs of uterine cancer, which is very common in unspayed, unbred female rabbits.

I would suggest you get bun to a good, experienced rabbit vet:

for a full wellness check, including examination of the GI tract and urinary tract, which can have conditions that cause blood leakage:

I hope this helps.
