Very Sick Lionhead

Question
It all started 2 weeks ago when my 6 month old lionhead male bunny became lethargic and refused to eat/drink/go to potty. Took him to an exoctic pet hospital and now $2500 later I am slowly weaning him back from the depths of death. The big issue is he is addicted to sugar. How do I go about getting him to eat properly? He is eating only hay and I am giving him fluids under the skin in conjunction with about 10 different medications. He turns his nose up at lettuce and carrots and will only eat snow peas when offered. He will have absolutely nothing to do with pellets. I am the cause of all of this as I was giving him way too many treats not knowing I was doing something wrong. He is anemic and is being given a supplement to address that issue as well. He was in the hospital for a week and had a fever as well. He is home now and seems as though the fever has subsided. He had several blood work ups preformed with a high lymphocyte count. The vets suspected either lead/zinc...He was tested for that and it came back negative. He returns to the vet on the 18th of December for another blood test to check on the lymphocyte count. In the meantime how do I go about getting him to eat the good stuff?? When I rattle a treat bag he sits up and begs...No I am not giving him any treats I just rattle a bag to see if he has an interest/appetite in food at all...Help please!!! This is just like a drug addiction in humans!!!

Answer
hi kitty firstly your vets certainly know how to charge .if it was me i would just feed him a dry rabbt mix and water to drink -he may refuse it at first but i feel when he gets hungry enough he will succomb to to the food.
dont ever feed tit bits they dont need it.
