new antibiotic?

My rabbit is on a new antibiotic for multiple reasons one of them upper respiratory infection.he is oral ciprofloxacin and chloramphenicol eye ointment how long until i see improvment?(his eye seems to be doing better its been a day)

Dear Marc,

The topical ointment will deliver antibiotics right to the source of the problem, which is why you saw immediate improvement.  The oral antibiotics take longer to reach a therapeutic level, but if the bacteria causing the problem are sensitive to cipro, you should see gradual improvement over time.
