Question
our piggy petunia is about a year old and i took her in when co-worker drove her to work one day and said he was gonna leave her at the zoo. worring for her safty i took her to live with me even though i was totally uneducated about pigs and there needs.we live in an apt on the second floor. she used to play and run around the house, but one day it just stopped and now she only wants to be in our bedroom and wont leave the doorway. now she has gained some waight i would guess she's about 90 lbs or so and now she has started having a very hard time standing on one front leg  (due to a pain i dont know the cause for). we love her very much and want the best for her but is keeping her in souch a small room ok. i know she needs exercize and ive tried lots of things but not much has really stuck except for her food ball but that only dose so much.i dont want to ger rid of her - im just not sure if its fare to keep her in a small space with no outside acess. she seems happy except for her leg.i havnt found a vet to take her yet.

Answer
Hello,
Any pig needs outside time and exercise.
As you live on the second floor and her leg is bad it is not a good situation.
She needs to have her leg examined by a Veterinarian.  A food ball will encourage her to gain weight and that in turn is bad for the leg.
She should go for walks everyday and make sure she doesn't have any extra weight as that will make her lazy.
Start with the Vet.
Good luck,
Patty
