My pig gus

Question
Lately I have noticed that my mini pot belly pig has been having some kind of seizures.  I mostly notice them at night when we are sleeping.  Some are mild, but sometimes its like his jaw opens up and its like its stuck and his neck turns and he's grunting like maybe its painful and his body makes spastic type movements.  Do you know anything about this and what I can do to help Gus out?

Answer
This kind of situation is really impossible to assess over the Internet.
If Gus is having real seizures and pain, then he needs to see a vet at once.
You said they happen "at night when we are sleeping" - I assume this means the pig is asleep when these seizures occur? If so, does he awaken or respond if you touch him gently or call his name? If so, he just might be dreaming.
When/where/what is happening around Gus when he has seizures while awake? If they happen for no particular reason with no stimulation or trigger, he needs to see a vet.
Some pigs have a reaction to odors from a spray, like perfumes, body sprays, scented insect repellents, sunscreens, or room fresheners. The reaction resembles a seizure, and starts seconds after the offending odor is sprayed.
I panicked the first time this happened to me and my pig! After several episodes I figured out it was the perfume spray.
Yahoo groups has several groups devoted to pot-bellied pigs and their care and training. Potspot and PigInfoandChat are two good lists. If you're interested in learning more about your pigs behavior from other experienced pig lovers, I suggest joining one or both of these groups.
