potbeely pig about to give birth

Question
My potbelly pig Daisy is acting very strange, she is digging a hole in the backyard by the tree and carrying brush from the tree over to the hole and tossing it in the hole. She is also filling the hole with more dirt as she fills it with the brush. Does this mean that she is about to give birth and if so how much longer does she have before her actual birth?

Answer
I am guessing from the last part of your question that you know for sure she is pregnant. Gestation is three months, three weeks, and three days, or about 114 days.
Nesting behavior isn't limited to pregnant sows. One of my spayed sows loves to build huge nests, and a couple of my neutered males build small ones from time to time.
If she is pregnant, outside is not the best place for her to have the babies, especially in the winter months. Babies need a warm, dry environment. Also, predators can and do get into pens and yards, even ones that seem secure. Hawks and other birds of prey can easily swoop down and snatch a baby piglet.
A large dog house or doggie igloo is an inexpensive shelter. Put a couple of bales of straw in her pen, she will use them for bedding.
