Question
I just brought my 4 month male mini-pig home last night he does not like to be touched, he won't eat or drink, he hasn't used the bathroom and he just lays on his blanket. He was neutered 3 days ago.

Answer
Piglets need to learn that it's ok to be touched. Start by letting him come to you. Sit in the room with him and talk quietly. Tell him what you are going to do before doing it, for example "Touch piggy back". It helps if all food comes directly from your hand for the first few days.

A healthy piglet is energetic when awake and takes long, frequent naps. Chances are your baby is exhausted from all the trauma - first neutering, then taken from everything he's ever known and now in a strange place.

Piglets need warmth, so make sure his room is warm and cover him up with a warm blanket. His body should feel very warm to touch. Pigs also love sleeping bags, they go inside and "disappear" completely.

If he goes more than 24 hours without peeing, eating or drinking, something is seriously wrong and he'll need to see a vet right away. If there is a foul odor, oozing or excessive swelling beneath his tail, he will need to see a vet. If he goes more than 3 days without going potty, he'll need to see a vet.
