neuter pot belly pig

Question
Hello my name is Sandy.  My husband found a potbelly that someone abandond on the side of the road in his cage with food set on top. Out in the country where I live, they knew someone would find him and take him home.  no excuse they should be put in jail.  I am going to assume he is about 1-1/2 2 years old.  weighs about 75lbs.  I was haveing trouble finding a vet that works on Pot belly pigs.  Finally I located one.  My question is :  Is there an age where it is to late to neuter?  he is not agressive but I do smell the musky smell on him.  He is a wonderful boy and want to do what is right for him.  He is house broke already and loves to root around our 2 acres during the day then comes in to his bed and sleeps all night.  I feed him 2 cups of pig grain once a day and he grazes all day on grass. I have tried fresh vegies but wants nothing to do with it.  Can you give me a little advice. am I doing right so far?  Thank you for your time.

Thank goodness you came along and found him!  He i a lucky pig!
I think you can still neuter him but your Vet will be the expert when you locate one.
It sounds like you are are taking very good care of him.
I would suggest not letting him gaze on grass all day as that will really put the weight on him.  Grass is very high in protein and full of calories.
You might also try the Infinity plus feed feed for him.  It will satisfy his appetite and help keep the weight off.  You may also find that the Vit/Min supplement is helpful.  It will make sure he is getting everything he needs to be a happy an healthy pig.
