QuestionHi - I have a one year-old mini boar and a four month-old mini neutered male. Could they live together? The boar (Riker) is a daddy already and I don't want him to hurt my baby pig. Help! Thanks, Dianne
AnswerPigs are naturally social animals, but they do have a strict social structure. Pigs see the world as a ladder, and each pig, pet and person has his or her own spot on that ladder.
Two males can live quite happily together, neutered or not. Introducing two pigs can be a little uncomfortable, because the pigs have to decide between themselves who will be the dominant pig.
Because one pig is already a year old and the other is just four months, the baby will most likely accept the subordinate position right away. If they do argue, it's best not to interfere. Put vasoline on their ears before putting them in together, so they won't be able to latch on.
