why my mini pig is sucking.....

Hello- I have a 5 month old mini nano pig, i recently had gotten him neutered and every since then he sucks on everything!!! He sucks on the floor, couch, feet, our clothes, blankets, when he is tired he tends to do it more. Should i be concerned?

It sounds like this is his way of reassuring himself. Young piglets have a strong need to nurse. This need usually drops off considerably when they are about three months old, and disappears completely by six months.

As long as piggy is eating, drinking, peeing and pooping, and has no signs of fever or infection at the incision site, he should be fine.

Getting neutered was probably a traumatic experience for him. Give him a stuffed toy to use for his nursing and rooting instincts. The behavior should slowly disappear over time.
