Wounded rat

Question
Hi there, I recently encountered a Strange looking rat in my travels, The distributor called it a "Miniature Spotted Furry Rat" and claimed it would get no bigger than a Dwarf Hamster, I've been searching the Internet for something that remotely looks like it, It looks like an overweight mouse with a more slender rat-like head, the eyes are also bulgy, and the hair is longer than the rats I have. If you need I can send a picture.

When I introduced it to my other rats, one of them immediately attacked it, and sheered off a large section of dorsal skin, and is currently being treated for the injury.

I'm not sure if this is a rat at all.

Answer
Please send a picture of this rat so that I may help you identify it. Is this rat a wild or domestic animal? I've never heard the name before. Don't be surprised if we find out that this "distibutor" was just pulling your leg to make a sell.

The injury befell this little rodent because it is a different species then your domestic rats. Your rats took the introduction as an invasion of their territory. I doubt that your pets will ever accept it. Best to keep it housed separately for life. I hope it recovers.
