Toffee and Fudge still scratching

Question
Hi Sandra, hope your well. Toffee and Fudge are still scratching. I cut down their protein (i wasnt giving them much anyway) and they keep scratching especially under their chins. They had the injection at the vets but then he wanted to do skin biopsies (didnt really want to do this as he wanted to anethetise my little girls) Apparently they dont do just skin scrapes as it doesnt show anything.
Been looking through all your answers and it seems Revolution is the best bet but i think here in the UK its called Stronghold. Does Revolution contain the active ingredient Selamectin?? Do you need a prescription from the vets? If not if i tell you the weight of my girls could you advise on amount? Is there any side affects?

Thanks Sandra. Great having you on the end of an email

Answer
Holy rats they are STILL at it huh?

Sheesh!!  LOL

Poor Toffee and Fudge!

Yes, revolution is selamectin and here in the states if you have a vet that will sell it to you, all you need is a small vial (just 1) of kitten strength and if you have a general idea of their weight I can tell you the dose.
I have never had any problem with side effects in all the rats I have treated  but I suppose a local reaction could occur, maybe itching (LOL!!) like thats a surprise!  LOL!

Does your vet sell it?  Do you have a source where to buy it from?

Nice to hear from you, btw...
