Templeton wont cuddle anymore

Question
I got Templeton at a big chain pet store in August 2007. He was my first and only rat. He is a gray fancy rat. I kept him in a nice three tiered cage and he had a wheel and hammock. The only time he came out was in the evening and since my husband was a butt about him, Templeton always had to stay on me in the recliner. We would cuddle and I would rub him and he would stretch out and was very content as was I.
after about 9 months, my husband said that Templeton had to go and my mom said, "because I was bawling", that she would let me bring the cage and Temp to her house. Temp still would love to be rocked and sang to and rubbed. He would get in my shirt and stretch out.
I kept reading that it is not best for the rat to be alone, so I got Ben at the same store. He is a hooded rat and very sweet. I kept them in seperate cages until Temp accepted him. I also started letting them have free range of the couch to recliner up in the window sill area. But now Templeton will not cuddle with me anymore! WAH! I miss cuddling with him so much. Ben cuddles with me more and actually has a facination with my mouth and wants to stick his head in it! LOL! Anyway, What happened to Templeton? Does he still love me?

Templeton does still love you I'm SURE -- you sound like a great rat mom -- but I think he learned how to be a rat and now has some - sorry - "better things to do". As they get older; some boys do that. Not always, and that isn't to say Templeton won't revert back to his original self. Rest assured, I'm sure he thinks you're an awesome Mommy.
