Question
My pet rat is 2 and a half years old and over the past 4 months she has developed a tumor that has been steadily growing. The vet gave her some medicine to try and help shrink it by getting the puss out and said surgery yo remove it would be 900. I can't afford the surgery. She is still her happy energetic get into everything self and not sick. Is there anything I can do for her tumor? When it gets so big she can't walk (its on her chest) but is still her happy self do Ieuphanize  her? I don't what else to do for her.

Answer
If removing the tumor isn't an option, all you can do is wait for the tumor to get "too big" and then make the decision to help her over the rainbow bridge. That could be a few weeks, or a few months, or she may die of old age before you ever have to make that decision... it's really kind of vague, and every rat/every tumor is different. Euthanasia is usually how the tumor story ends, however. I'm sorry.
