Question
I have a 9 month old Dumbo Rat which doesn't appear to be stressed or sick, but she has a diluted bloody color discharging from her nose. its not visible all the time, but if I wipe her nose with a Qtip it has a small amount of the discharge. I want to cure her, but I do not have the money to do so all this time. is there a known method to help her feel better? also, I heard about the upper respiratory infection. if she has this, wouldnt my other animals already have it? being that this has been going on for some time.

Answer
Sounds like she has simple porphyrin discharge, which in many cases, some traces of it are totally normal.  Please see my website, let me know if this is what your seeing with your little girl!
