new pet rat advice

hi Janell. i just bought a baby rat today from a pet store. im not sure how old she is but shes definately a baby. maybe about 4.5 inches long. anyway. i put her in her cage. and all she does is sit in the corner. when i hold her she likes to cuddle up in my hand. more like borough. i was wondering if maybe i should get another rat? if shes lonely? or is she just nervous? im really concerned because i want her to be happy and feel at home

She may be lonely; but most likely she's still adjusting to being in a new place - after all, if you just got her, she's still a little shell shocked! Give her time to settle in, and in a few weeks, look into getting a baby her age or younger as a buddy.
